14 people are confirmed dead after a bus belonging to the United Church of Zambia-UCZ was involved in a road traffic accident in Pemba district, southern province.
The accident involves a United of Zambia(UCZ) bus and a truck.
UCZ Synod Administrative Secretary, Mr. Rodgers Ng’ambi has confirmed the sad development in a statement, that the bus operated as a commercial service between Maamba and Lusaka, and has claimed 14 lives, including the driver.
The bus is believed to have had 26 UCZ congregants onboard with survivors said to be in critical condition.
As most parts of southern province continue experiencing Tropical Storm Ana, poor visibility and slippery roads may have caused the accident.
