President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia’s economic development outlook is expected to boom in the next 10 to 20 years from now should the country continue on the current government’s economic agenda.
Speaking during the official ground breaking of the Lusaka-Ndola Dual carriage way in Kapiri Tuesday, President Hichilema said now that government’s economic agenda is outlined for smooth economic development, his administration is beginning to ensure that all districts have access to equal development.
“Now that we are almost concluding with the debt restructuring process, we have restored peace and order we can now concentrate on actualizing our vision for this great nation,” he said.
The President said thriving on the atmosphere of restructured debts and peace across the nation in addition to hard work, Zambia will begin to develop drastically.
This new road will ease economic connectivity between counties, provinces and districts as goods and services will easily move from one end to another.
Mr. Hichilema further added that the dual carriage way will give birth to new business and boast already existing businesses along the way.
He called on Zambian’s to continue working hard as his government is focusing to ensure that the cost of doing business is low as can be seen by the forthcoming Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage that will easy and shorten hours of transportation of goods and services.
“This project is not for Lusaka people only but for every Zambian and the entire SADC region as goods and services will be passing through this road thereby ensuring that all citizens benefits,” he said.
The road, the President said, will not just contribute to the business sector but also in the health sector as patients will easily be moved from one districts to another where they can access specialized medical services.
The president further said that government settled for Private Public Partnership (PPP) because the partnership allows government to channel others resources to other sectors.
