K22 MILLION NATIONAL YOUTH SKILLS EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM LAUNCHED

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has launched the 22 Million Kwacha National Youth Skills Empowerment Program meant to train 7 thousands youths in various skills under phase one of the project.

And President HICHILEMA says 50 youths from each of the targeted hundred constituencies countrywide will be trained in various Skills.

President HICHILEMA says 81 training institutions have so far been engaged to train the recruited youths.

The President said this through Technology and Science Minister, FELIX MUTATI at the launch of the programme at the Chipata Trades School in Eastern Province.

And President HICHILEMA said government has spent about 70 million Kwacha in infrastructure and equipment for the trade schools.

President HICHILEMA has urged the youths to take advantage of the grants the Ministries of Youth, Sports and Arts as well as Medium and Small Enterprise are offering to young people.

And speaking earlier, Information and Media Minister CHUSHI KASANDA has challenged the media to help in publicizing various empowerment initiatives government is providing.

Meanwhile, Youth, Sports and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU said the youths who will be trained under the program can apply for grants from his ministry.
