Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has in the past two weeks approved applications for seventy constituencies for projects to be implemented under the Constituency Development Fund –CDF-.
Addressing the media in Lusaka today, Local Government Permanent Secretary Technical Services Nicholas Phiri said the ministry has noted improvement in the submissions of proposals from constituencies through their local authorities.
Mr. Phiri says to further improve efficiency, the ministry has directed that constituencies through their local authorities should submit annual proposals of projects and programmes whose implementation is phased accordingly.
He says all constituencies are also expected to publish approved names of projects and beneficiaries of empowerment and bursaries on respective local authority notice boards and websites.
