(ZNBC)-Minister of health SYLVIA MASEBO has ordered the Copperbelt provincial administration to put a stop to works on the 10 hectares land meant for the construction of the cancer disease hospital in Ndola by a private developer.
Ms Masebo said the land in question is government land and was not given to any private investor.
The minister has warned the private investor who is owner of East West Construction Company that he risks losing the property if construction works continues.
Speaking after touring the area in Chichele, Ms Masebo asked the district health office to continue with the process of securing the land in preparation for the construction of the cancer disease hospital.
She has also tasked the ministry of lands and the council in Ndola to revisit the issuance of the land to the private developer and secure
it for the Cancer Hospital..
And Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary AUGUSTINE KASONGO assured the minister that a stop order will be issued to the alleged owner of the land.
Mr KASONGO further said he will call for a meeting with the ministry of lands and the council to quickly sort out the matter.
