(ZNBC)-Scabies has broken out in Kalabo District of Western Province.
ZNBC’s MUSHOTA MPUNDU, who is in Kalabo, reports that scabies infestation in the remote parts of Kalabo has spread quickly through close physical contact in families and schools.
And the Zambia Flying Doctors who are conducting an outreach programme in Kalabo say most health facilities visited have recorded a high number of people with Scabies.
MULENGA CHILAMBWE, who is leading the team, said most of the affected are young and the old.
Dr. CHILAMBWE said the affected people have received free scabies drugs from the Zambia flying Doctors service.
Meanwhile WINNIE NALUBE a clinical officer at Liumba Health Centre said cases of scabies at the facility are common and thanked Government for providing free drugs to the institution.
