‘Don’t fight each other HH’ urges leaders to work as a team to address people’s challenges

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has advised those in leadership positions to stop fighting each other but work as a team in order to address challenges faced by the people.

Mr Hichilema said mayors, council chairpersons and Members of Parliament should stop pushing each other but concentrate on working to deliver because there was so much work which needed to be done.

The President was speaking in Kalomo at Request Muntanga Muntanga Hospital in the company of First Lady Mutinta Hichilema where he donated 100 bags of mealie-meal and two cows for patients in the hospital.

He also said that permanent secretaries needed to collaborate and organise meetings with provincial heads and tackle issues affecting people.

“us work as a team to address the issues affecting people, we should not push each other, there is need to unite in order to deliver and so much work needs to be done,” he said.

The president said Request Muntanga Hospital would be completed in 2023 for it to offer other services needed by the people.

And Kalomo District Health Director said Brain Habasimbi said the second phase of the hospital had not yet been completed from its inception in 2013.

He said the hospital still needed essential structures such as maternity wards to be fully operational.

He said the lack of such facilities had affected delivery of health services in the district.
