Adidas Resumes Partnership with Kanye West in Selling YEEZY Products

Adidas and Kanye West have decided to reconcile and resume their partnership, marking the return of the popular Adidas YEEZY products.

The collaboration had been terminated in October 2022 after Kanye West allegedly made anti-Semitic remarks.

In an effort to mitigate profit losses and avoid a sustainability issue, Adidas has made the decision to continue selling the adidas YEEZY sneakers, which are currently valued at over 1.3 billion USD and are sitting in storage.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Kanye West will still receive a 15% commission for every sale of Adidas YEEZY products.

Adidas has decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to select international The exact amount of the donation and the organizations involved have yet to be disclosed.

Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden stated that the company aims to gradually release the stored merchandise to the market, emphasizing that burning the goods would not be a viable solution.

However, specific details regarding which models and colorways will be launched, as well as the distribution channels for the products, such as the CONFIRMED app, online stores, or wholesale retailers, remain unclear. Adidas is expected to provide further information on upcoming Adidas YEEZY releases in the coming months.

While Adidas considered donating all the stored sneakers, they ultimately decided against it due to concerns that it could result in an uncontrolled and potentially volatile market release of the products.

As of now, Adidas has not responded to requests for comments on the situation. More updates and statements from the company are anticipated in the near future.
