Abbad Reda new MTN Zambia CEO

(Times of Zambia)-MTN Group has appointed Abbad Reda as its new chief executive officer for Zambia, effective May 1, this year replacing Bart Hofker.

Mr Reda has more than 20 years of experience and successfully delivered market share, revenue, and profit growth.

According to a press statement by MTN Media Group, Mr Reda joined MTN Group in 2002 and has held several senior positions, including chief information officer for MTN Ghana, and is currently the chief executive for MTN Afghanistan.

Mr Reda holds an executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a bachelor of engineering in computer and communication engineering.

He has also participated in MTN’s Global Advancement Program (GAP).

He assumes office at MTN Zambia from Mr Hofker, who has is leaving MTN to pursue other ventures.

Group president Ralph Mupita said Mr Reda would continue supporting MTN Afghanistan, where he was managing matters related to MTN’s orderly exit of the country.
