African swine fever has broken out in Livingstone district.
Livingstone District Veterinary Officer MATHEWS MUTALE has confirmed the outbreak to ZNBC News in Livingstone.
Dr. MUTALE says thirteen pigs have so far been destroyed at Saint Mary’s Secondary School piggery after laboratory results came out positive of African swine fever.
He says there is a need for farmers to cooperate with the department of veterinary for the disease to be effectively controlled.
