BARBARA BANDA SHINES IN ZAMBIA’S WIN AGAINST LESOTHO

Denied an opportunity to lead the Zambia women’s national team early this year during the Women’s Africa Cap of Nations, Zambia Women’s National Team Captain Barbara Banda has proven her passion to excite Zambian football lovers with five goals in one game.

Shepolopolo won 7-0 against Lesotho yesterday in the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship.

Zambia women’s Skipper Barbara Banda opened the score line 11 minutes from kick off and later scored a second goal 19 minutes later that saw shepolopolo dominant two goals ahead of Lesotho in the first half of the match.

The Zambia women’s national skipper further scored three more goals conservatively in the 48th, 52 and 56th respectively.

Evarine Susan Katongo scored the sixth goal 45 minutes later while Xiomara Mapepa scored the last 7th goal of the game 66th minutes later that saw shepolopolo beat Lesotho seven goals to null.

Shepolopolo national team captain Barbra Banda was ruled out of this years Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after failing gender eligibility tests.

Banda was allowed to play at last years Olympic Games as the IOC rules differ from those of FIFA which are applicable to Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The allegations which CAF later denied saying that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) did not submit her name during the registration, the divers information left many Zambians wondering who was telling the truth.

Her missing in the Women’s Africa Cap of Nations tournament gave Zambian football lovers attribute Zambia’s lose in the final against South Africa to her absence.

Meanwhile Copper Queens goalkeeper Catherine Musonda has continued with her steady performance at the 2022 Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship as she kept her second clean sheet in the 7-0 demolition of Lesotho, the first been 2-0 win over Namibia in group B opener.

The Copper Queens next fixture is on 6th August against eSwatini.
