COPPERBELT FIRMS UNITE TO PLANT 1,000 TREES

ZANIS-A Consortium of Business Executives on the Copperbelt have partnered with the forestry department to plant 1,000 trees at Fatima girls secondary and Yengwe combined schools as their contribution to reducing Carbon emissions.

Permaponics, Kapesika Energy, Copperbelt Energy Corporation -CEC- and Rotary Clubs of Ndola have provided One thousand species of tress to plant at the two schools.

Copperbelt Energy Corporation Chief Environmental Adviser, WORRIES SINKALA said tree planting is important to prevent the environment from further damage.

He said it is incumbent upon individuals to plant and adopt a tree and care for it till it achieves it’s intended purpose.

And, Kapesika Energy Operations Manager MWANSA CHANSA said his company will NOT hesitate to support and partner with other cooperating partners to carry out activities such as tree planting.

And Copperbelt Province Minister SAMANTHA MATAMBO, who was Guest of honor, said it is gratifying to see stakeholders come on board to plant trees in various places.

Mrs. MATAMBO said youths should not only concentrate their energies on social media, but should also contribute positively to the environment by planting and adopting trees.
