ONE person has died of COVID-19 in Zambia while the number of cases has increased from 11 on Tuesday to 88 yesterday.
The number of active COVID-19 cases also increased within a space of one day, from 211 to 277, with 16 persons admitted, of which four were on oxygen therapy and two critically ill.
According to the Ministry of Health COVID-19 statistics dashboard released yesterday, the death was recorded in Lusaka Province, which also accounted for 26 cases, mainly from Lusaka and Kafue districts.
Professor Kasonka said in a Press release on Tuesday that three people died of COVID-19 on Saturday.
