The Economic Association of Zambia (EAZ) has launched its highly anticipated National Economic Summit slated for 25 – 26 July, 2024 in Lusaka.
Speaking during the EAZ National Economic Summit Breakfast Meeting held at Pamodzi hotel on Friday, Association Acting Executive Director Tendai Posiana said the theme for this year’s summit, “Navigating Zambia’s Economic Transformation: Integrating Climate Change and Debt Refinancing Headwinds,” is not just a slogan; but a call to action.
“Our summit agenda is meticulously crafted to cover a wide array of topics pertinent to Zambia’s economic development. From high-level panel discussions on sustainable investment strategies to interactive workshops on innovative climate adaptation measures, we aim to foster a multi-stakeholder dialogue that generates actionable insights and concrete solutions,” Posiana said.
She underscored the urgency of addressing pressing economic issues while simultaneously incorporating strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change and manage the country’s debt burdens adding that there is need to effectively and delve deep into the complexities of navigating Zambia’s economic landscape amidst the dual challenges of climate change and debt refinancing.
Posiana hinted that the upcoming summit provides a platform for EAZ to engage in robust discussions, share innovative ideas, and forge partnerships that will drive sustainable economic growth while safeguarding the environment and fiscal stability.
“We are poised to delve into key issues that will shape Zambia’s economic landscape for years to come. Our agenda includes insightful sessions on climate-resilient economic strategies, debt restructuring mechanisms, and opportunities for sustainable development.”
