SOME fraudsters have created a fake Facebook account using Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commander Maliti Solochi’s picture which they are using to ask for money from unsuspecting members of the public in exchange for employment.
The fraudulent scheme comes in the wake of Government’s announcement that it will employ over 5, 000 soldiers under the Ministry of Defence.
ZNS has since urged members of the public to be wary of the fraudsters and report anyone found soliciting for money in exchange for jobs.
“We would like to sound a stern warning to individuals who are I. The habit of swindling people (out) of their hard-earned money by using false information to desist from criminal activities to avoid being prosecuted,” a statement issued yesterday reads.
Minister of Defence Ambrose Lufuma announced that Government will recruit 5,000 people this year.
Those wishing to apply to join the service should be wary of fraudsters who create fake Facebook accounts using particulars and pictures of officers with the motive of swindling unsuspecting members of the public,” the statement reads.
“We do not charge any money for recruitment as the whole process is done fairly and at no fee at all.”
