GOVERNMENT IMPROVING TOURISM,HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

(ZNBC)-Government says it is improving the tourism and hospitality industry to better the economy.

Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says government is working at improving inflow of foreign tourists by implementing favourable tourism policies.

Speaking during a stakeholders meeting at in Lusaka today, Mr. SIKUMBA noted the need to take advantage of opportunities that exist within the country and abroad to grow the sector.

He said this is in order to achieve the target of three million tourists by 2024.

And Botswana High Commissioner to Zambia ALPHAEUS MATLHAKU said there is need for concerted government efforts between his country and Zambia towards provision of skilled labour in the tourism sector.

Meanwhile, Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies -ZITHS- Governing Council Chairperson MULEMWA MOONGWA said the institution is looking for stakeholders and partners to assist in expanding its hospitality service.
