The Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) has today handed over to the government through the Ministry of Finance and National Planning a total sum of K30 million in dividends.
This follows ZNBS’s declaration of a K185. 869 million profit after tax during its annual general meeting held on 28th June, 2023.
Today’s cheque presentation marks the seventh time in a row for the parastatal to declare dividends to government.
Finance and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane who received the cheque commended the ZNBS Board of Directors and management and staff for their efforts in keeping the company on a profitable path.
“We are looking forward to more and much bigger dividends in the near future considering the bright prospects in the industry. I therefore wish to implore other state-owned enterprises that are lagging in performance, to emulate ZNBS by being more creative and work hard at turning around their institutions to profitability,” said Dr Musokotwane.
He has pledged his Ministry will continue providing a conducive environment for better performance of state-owned enterprises by providing the right and supportive policies.
