Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba, says the government remains committed to implementing programmes aimed at uplifting the livelihoods of the vulnerable citizens in the communities.
Ms. Tambatamba has noted that various interventions have been executed in an effort to promote inclusiveness and value addition thereby reducing poverty levels in many households.
She said this when she graced the Evangelical Church Women’s fellowship during a fundraising event held in solwezi.
Ms. Tambatamba re-stated that the government cherishes the Evangelical church’s role in complementing government’s effort through provision of educational services not only in North Western Province but Zambia at large.
And Ms. Tambatamba further observed that the implementation of Programmes such as the Social Cash Transfer, (SCT), Constituency Development Fund (CDF) empowerment loans and grants has brought positive impact on members of the community.
Ms. Tambatamba has since urged women to form cooperatives and clubs to have access to empowerment loans and grants to enhance economic growth and development.
‘‘The Constituency Development Fund has been rolled out to all constituencies in the Country to foster development at community level. It caters for all sectors so that no one is left behind. Our children now have equal access to education, there are massive developmental projects being implemented as well as empowerment loans and grants,” she stressed.
The Evangelical Women’s Fellowship held a fundraising event in Kimasala ward of Solwezi District to raise funds towards construction of a one by three classroom block of a community school.
