Government is tomorrow set to sign a concession agreement with Macro Ocean Investment Consortium for the upgrading of the Lusaka -Ndola road into a duo carriage way.
Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Permanent Secretary DANNY MFUNE says this is a huge milestone for the country given the current status of the road.
Mr. MFUNE says the road has been in a very bad state for a long time, resulting in a number of accidents that have claimed many lives.
He told ZNBC news in an interview that Government started the process early 2022 and is at the verge of actualizing the initial agreement for the works to commence.
Mr. MFUNE said Government will be represented by Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE and Infrastructure and Housing Minister CHARLES MILUPI during the signing ceremony.
