(By Zanis)-Government has cut electricity exports owing to reduced power generation in the country.
Energy Minister, PETER KAPALA has confirmed, however explaining that government will not completely do away with exports.
Mr. KAPALA has told ZANIS in an interview that this is in order to maintain existing power markets.
The Minister said currently ZESCO is a cash strapped entity, whose operations are cushioned by some power exports.
Mr. KAPALA has further stated that government is alive to the disruption being caused by the ongoing load management, but that it is cautious of ensuring there is no complete shutdown.
The Minister said government is working to bring on board the 1-hundred and 5 Megawatts Ndola Energy Power Plant on the Copperbelt and the 150 Megawatts 5th generating unit at the Kafue Gorge lower Hydro Power Station.
