Grizzly Mining Limited announced a significant contribution of US$50,000 to the inaugural Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, a landmark event aimed at fostering investment and collaboration within the mining sector.

The announcement was made by Jeneba Ntesa, a representative of the company, during a ceremony celebrating 100 years of mining in Zambia being held in Lusaka.

Ntesa handed the cheque for the donation to Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Dr Hapenga Kabeta.

Speaking at the event, Ntesa conveyed greetings from the company’s Chairman and management team, highlighting Grizzly Mining’s pride in participating in the historic occasion.

Ntesa said as the second-largest emerald mining company in Zambia, Grizzly Mining is committed to the development of the gemstone mining sector, recognizing the Insaka as a crucial platform for networking, collaboration, and investment.

“We believe this platform will attract more investment into the gemstone mining sector, particularly the emerald industry,” Ntesa stated. “An increase in the number of players in the sector will result in more revenue for the industry and ultimately more funds for the government through taxes, contributing to the nation’s development.”

Ntesa underscored Grizzly Mining’s dedication to responsible mining practices and community development, emphasizing the company’s alignment with Zambia’s broader economic goals.

She commended the government, led by President Hakainde Hichilema, for creating an environment conducive to hosting such a groundbreaking event, commending the President’s efforts to promote Zambia’s mining potential.

Grizzly Mining’s US$50,000 contribution reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring the success of the Insaka, which is expected to foster meaningful connections and knowledge sharing among industry stakeholders.

As Zambia marks a century of mining, the company looks forward to continued partnership and collaboration, supporting the country’s vision for sustainable mining and economic empowerment.

The first-ever Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka running from Monday 7th to 11th October 2024, represents a key milestone in Zambia’s mining history, with industry leaders and stakeholders working together to shape the future of the sector.

Grizzly Mining’s contribution is seen as a significant step towards realizing this vision.
