HH Appoints Mr. Peter Mumba as Permanent Secretary of Energy

President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed Mr. Peter Mumba as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy.

Speaking during the the swearing-in ceremony Mr. Hichilema said that he underscored the government’s commitment to addressing the pressing issue of fuel pricing and its impact on citizens.

President Hichilema added that there is a urgent need to devise a fuel pricing mechanism that would provide predictability and minimize the economic burden on the people of Zambia.

He further expressed grave concern over the economic hardships faced by citizens due to rising fuel costs and pledged his administration’s dedication to resolving this issue promptly.

“We are extremely concerned with the economic impact of fuel on our citizens, and we are working round the clock to resolve this issue,” President Hichilema stated. We

He emphasized on finding a sustainable solution to fuel pricing problem by underscoring the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Zambians.

 

The President add that Mr. Peter Mumba brings a wealth of experience to his role. His background in energy and economics is expected to be instrumental in formulating a fuel pricing mechanism that aligns with the government’s goals of predictability and economic stability.
