President Hakainde Hichilema says he has personally been making calls to other Heads of State over Zambia’s debt overhang.
The President says this has culminated into a Creditors Committee meeting currently taking place today and being attended by Minister of Finance Situmbeko Musokotwane and Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa.
President Hichilema says restructuring the country’s debt is one of his personal key performance indicators.
He said resolving the debt problem is critical for the country’s economic development.
The President was speaking when he addressed a Leadership Workshop for the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) in Lusaka today.
