Government has announced that President Hakainde Hichilema is scheduled to undertake a State visit to Saudi Arabia soon to further bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Chief Government spokesperson Chushi Kasanda said the visit would solidify the cooperation and joint aspirations that the two countries shared.
Ms Kasanda, who is also Information and Media Minister, was speaking when she graced the 92nd Saudi Arabia National Day in Lusaka at the weekend.
“I wish to applaud Saudi Arabia for the support rendered to Zambia in various sectors of the economy which include agriculture, health and infrastructure development and call on the Saudi Arabian Government and private sector to take advantage of Zambia’s immense business and investment opportunities,” Ms Kasanda said.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Zambia Osamah Krenshi said the two countries had enjoyed a long standing and cordial bilateral relationship.
“The Zambia Saudi Arabia Joint Permanent Commissions are a testimony to the fruitful relations. We also have the King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Specialist Hospital for women and children in Lusaka, which is currently under construction by the Saudi Arabian Government and will be completed by June, 2023,” Mr Krenshi said.
He said the Saudi Arabian Government was looking forward to Zambia participating in the Arab-Afro Summit slated for later this year.
