The days of spending paper banknotes are numbered: 8 days, to be precise- so go and deposit them at the bank if you have not done so yet.
The bank of England has replaced £20 and £50 with new polymer £20 and £50 banknotes.
This is according to the Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ) press release made available to the public yesterday 21st September 2022, in Lusaka.
BAZ further advised the public with £20 and £50 England notes to deposit any paper banknotes on or before 30 September.
“Bank customers and members of the public are encouraged to deposit any paper banknotes in their possession at their respective banks before the side date,” the release reads.
It further adds that banks will only accept these banknotes from members of the public before 30th September 2022.
This is according to the press release issued and signed by Bankers Association of Zambia Chief Executive Officer Leonard Mwanza.
