K5 MILLION RESERVED FOR KAFUE ROADS

Over five million Kwacha has been reserved for the procurement and repair of earth moving equipment to be used in road rehabilitation works in Kafue District.

Kafue Member of Parliament MIRRIAM CHONYA has disclosed this saying the equipment will help in working on township roads.

Speaking when she inspected a portion of a recently rehabilitated road in the Constituency, Ms. CHONYA said she is impressed with works and wants more to be done.

She said the money to be used is from the first and second quarter of the 2022 Constituency Development Fund allocation.

Meanwhile, Ms. CHONYA has urged Shantumbu residents that Government is doing everything possible to ensure the remaining stretch on the Shantumbu road is worked on.

And a Subcontractor on the newly rehabilitated Chifundo road, MWEWA CHONGO has appealed to Government to expedite the payment of contractors.

He said while the 30 percent subcontracting policy is good, Government should be releasing money on time for effective delivery of works.
