Minister of Information and Media CHUSHI KASANDA says it is important for media houses to employ trained staff for them to disseminate news that is well-researched, factual and balanced.
The Minister, who is on a familiarization tour of media houses in the Southern Province, was speaking today when she visited the Catholic-owned Radio Maria Musi-oa-Tunya in Livingstone.
She said the government wants to collaborate with private media houses to promote dissemination of information to the public.
Mrs. KASANDA said the government has worked very well with the Catholic Church and encouraged Radio Maria Musi-oa-Tunya to help disseminate government policies.
Meanwhile, Mrs. KASANDA has reaffirmed that the ZNBC studio in Livingstone will be re-operationalised to help market tourism.
Speaking when she called on Senior CHIEF MUKUNI of Kazungula District, Mrs. KASANDA said Livingstone is a Tourist Capital and that in order to continue attracting tourists to Zambia the ZNBC studio must be operational.
