(ZANIS) Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary ROYD MWANSA has called on all districts to be on high alert in order to prevent further spread of cholera in the region.
Speaking when he chaired a provincial epidemic preparedness meeting, Mr. MWANSA said government has already dispatched a team of health experts to Mwansabombwe to try and mitigate the further spread of the outbreak in the district.
He has explained that since the outbreak of Cholera in Mwansabombwe last month, people in the area have continued to travel thereby increasing the chances of the disease spreading to other parts of the province.
And Luapula Province Health Director SIMON KUNDA said the
Province is currently experiencing a number of public health threats such as cholera and polio.
Dr. KUNDA added that the province has also continued to record Covid-19 cases which are averaging between 10 and 20 per day.
