(ZANIS)-The Zambia Meteorological Department (ZMD) has forecasted rainfall activities in most parts of the country from the 16th to 20th of October 2023.
According to the weather alert in a press statement issued by the department the rainfall activity will be influenced by an influx of moist and unstable airflow from the northwest (Congo air).
The weather alert further revealed that the rains will be characterized with thunder and slightly reduced temperature.
“An influx of Moist and unstable airflow from the northwest (Congo air) is expected to spread to most parts of Zambia during the forecast period 16th to 20th October, 2023 .This is expected to induce rain and thunder in most parts of the country and slightly reduce the high temperatures that are currently being experienced,” reads the weather alert.
The Department has since advised farmers to secure their harvested crop in the wake of the anticipated rains.
Meanwhile members of the public have been urged to take precautionary measures to avoid being soaked.
