(ZNBC)Government has targeted to digitize all transactions in the Ministry of Lands by the first quarter of next year.
Smart Zambia National Coordinator, PERCY CHINYAMA says the digitization of land transactions will help bring transparency and expose corruption.
He said this on the sidelines of the African Telecommunications Union Ministerial forum in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mr. CHINYAMA said digitizing services in the Ministry of Lands will also help provide a clear audit of land ownership.
And Mr. CHINYAMA disclosed that Smart Zambia in partnership with the Ministry of Education is currently training over 3000 teachers in Information and Communication Technology -ICT.
He said the objective is to create a cadre of trainers who will teach children ICT solutions that are relevant to industry demands.
Mr. CHINYAMA said the next step will be to make digital devices available in Schools countrywide.
He said investors have already committed to building a digital device assembly plant in Zambia.
Mr. CHINYAMA said Government will then buy and distribute the devices in Schools countrywide.
