Mulyata commission Chamulimba

Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata, has assured the community of Chamulimba in Rufunsa of Government’s commitment to fulfil the campaign promises.

Ms. Mulyata assured the people of the Government’s commitment to improving the quality of education in the country, and the lives of its people.

Ms. Mulyata who is also Rufunsa Member of Parliament, said the government has deliberately prioritised infrastructure development in the education sector in order to strengthen communities and to ultimately empower children through educational support.

Ms. Mulyata said this at Chamulimba School in Rufunsa yesterday when she commissioned a 1 x 3 classroom block which is fully furnished with 75 new desks.

The 1 x 3 new class room block project under the 2022 expanded Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has also come with 3 Double VIP toilets.

Ms. Mulyata said that through the expanded the CDF, works of improvement in the quality of education in the country can be clearly displayed, adding that her Constituency in particular has set an ambitious programme through the 2022 and 2023 CDF to procure desks for learners in all schools.

“Government under the leadership of the President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema is committed to provide more infrastructure development to all our schools and ensure that Desks, Waterborne toilets, and Mechanised Water is provided for all learning institutions, ” said Ms. Mulyata.

She further added that through the Rural Electrification Authority (REA), all public institutions which include Schools in the country will be provided with electricity so as to improve the lives of people.

Rufunsa District Education Board Secretary Teddy Chibwe thanked the government for prioritizing educational infrastructure development, particularly, in his district.

Mr. Chibwe said that the commissioning of the 1×3 classroom block at Chamulimba Primary School will generally cater for the needs of pupils in Chamulimba Ward following free education which has resulted in an increased school population.

He further urged members and learners of Chamulimba Ward to guard the infrastructure jealously saying it is a sign of government’s assurance to them.

“Learners, make full potential of these facilities being handed over to you, to improve your education and contribute to the country’s progress by achieving productive lives in future,” said Mr. Chibwe.

Members of Chamulimba Ward welcomed the development, claiming that the ward had been neglected for a long time.

“Firstly, it was the bringing of a clinic near to us, and now we’re here again to witness the commissioning of a classroom block which has been accompanied with 3 VIP toilets and we also have running water here in the school and surrounding villages , ” Patrick Mbewe, a member of Chamulimba Ward said.

Earlier, Ms. Mulyata disclosed that Chamulimba community now has tap water and that the Ministry of Water Development had installed 16 taps in selected sites and some in the school yard.

Ms. Mulyata said provision of adequate water supply in Chamulimba community is a huge boost towards the improvement of hygiene in the area.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mulyata commended Chamulimba School for recording good Grade 9 results at 65 percent saying its performance beat other schools in Lusaka urban.
