Ndola City Council Challenged to conduct audit in selll of land under the council and China Hene Gouji Partnership

Former Ndola Mayor Amon Chisenga has called on the Ndola City Council to institute an audit in the sell of land under the Ndola City Council and China Henan Gouji Limited Partnership.

Ndola City Council in 2019 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China Henan Gouji to construct over 2000 housing units in Ndola’s Dola hill area where China Henan Gouji is however alleged to have started selling the pieces of land.

Reacting to this development in an Interview, Mr. Chisenga has described this action by China Henan Gouji as a scandal, saying there is no contract existing between Ndola City Council and Henan Gouji as the latter did not fulfill the terms and conditions of the contract.

Mr. Chisenga explains that Ndola City Council was to provide land while Henan Gouji was supposed to provide US$200 million for the construction of the houses but notes that the purpose for which the land was given was not adhered to by China Henan Gouji limited.

And Ndola Council Public Relations Manager Rebecca Mushota when reached for a comment said the local authority will give a comprehensive comment on the matter after inquiring from Ndola Mayor Jones Kalyati.
