ONE MILLION FARMERS TARGETED UNDER FISP

Agriculture Minister REUBEN MTOLO says government has targeted over one million beneficiaries of Farmer Input Support Programme -FISP- in the forthcoming farming season.

Mr. MTOLO says legumes such as groundnuts and soya beans have been added to the agriculture pack under the Food input Support Programme.

He has also revealed that government will soon start recruiting more beneficiaries of FISP.

Mr. MTOLO said this at a press briefing in LUSAKA yesterday.

He has refuted assertions that the removal of agriculture subsidies is one of the conditions of the International Monetary Fund -IMF bail package to Zambia.
