The AgricTech Expo 2023 has kicked off at GART Research Centre in Chisamba district with over 130 companies in attendance showcasing different agricultural technologies and products aimed at improving smart agriculture.
The annual event organised by DLG Agriculture in collaboration with the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) is one of the largest agricultural trade fairs in sub-Saharan Africa which is a meeting point for International and Zambian experts in the field of plant production as well as livestock and representatives of international and Zambian agricultural companies.
“We are happy to see you at the state-of-the-art venue, the GART Research Centre in Chisamba. For the next few days, we wish you success in visiting your suppliers, attracting new ones, meeting your fellow farmers to exchange knowledge and ideas as well as participating in for instance – one of our knowledge sharing workshops,” said AgriTech Expo Zambia Project Director Lars Huf.
Dr. Huf noted that the three days exposition (from 20 – 22 April 2023) is the only professional business-led event servicing the needs of the entire agri-value chain in Zambia and its neighbouring countries as it showcases large scale commercial farmers as well as emerging and small scale farmers.
This years’ eighth edition of AgriTech Expo is graced with companies from the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), Germany, China and various neighbouring African countries that have come to network, showcase seed varieties, fertilisers, agrochemicals from more than 150 top industry suppliers offering real time advice and guidance to farmers along with live machinery demonstrations, a first of its kind Drone Zone featuring live demos of agricultural drones and applications as well as the return of livestock among others.
