Police in Katete have jointly charged and arrested 20 suspects for three counts of malicious damage to property, one count of arson and assault on Police.
Police Deputy Spokesperson DANNY MWALE has confirmed the development to ZNBC News in a statement.
Mr. MWALE says the suspects are all detained and are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
He has however says two suspects have been released on insufficient evidence.
On Thursday last week police apprehended 20 people suspected to have been behind the attack on police officers that left 9 officers injured and admitted to hospital.
A Police Land Cruiser vehicle was burnt during the attack while 16 houses were also demolished.
A further two suspects aged 37 and 29 were apprehended by police yesterday around 02-hours bringing the total number of apprehended suspects to 22.
