Trident Foundation Limited has collaborated with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) to host the first-ever business clinic in Kalumbila District.
The business clinic held under the theme “Promoting Sustainability Through Business Linkage” was organised to offer local businesses an opportunity to access critical services required to run legitimate businesses that are compliant with all legal requirements.
Speaking during the official opening at Kalumbila Civic Centre, ZDA Director for Enterprise Development Mr. Gabriel Musentekwa said the platform allows the local business community to familiarise themselves with various beneficial services.
Council Chairperson Shadreck Munjunga said the Government has created an enabling environment for SMEs to thrive, hence the increasing level of economic activity which shows that Kalumbila District is on an upward trajectory. He urged local entrepreneurs to take the business clinic seriously and learn to develop ways of adding value to their products.
TFL Manager Joseph Ngwira said the theme for the business clinic was consistent with First Quantum Minerals’ collaboration with various stakeholders to offer support for business growth, agriculture, education, infrastructure, and health to promote homegrown solutions to the challenges faced by the local communities.
The institutions present at the clinic include PACRA, Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA), Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC), Workers Compensation Fund, National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), National Council for Construction (NCC), Zambia Bureau of Standards, Kalumbila Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and First National Bank (FNB).
The 5-day business clinic opened on November 28th and will close on December 2nd 2022.
