SIXTEEN SWIMMERS TO REPRESENT ZAMBIA AT AUSC REGION FIVE YOUTH GAMES

(ZNBC)-Sixteen swimmers will represent the country at the African Union Sports Council -AUSC-Region five youth games to be held in Malawi this December.

Zambia Swimming Union -ZASU- President GUY PHIRI says the 16 are the best swimmers in the country’s youth system.

PHIRI says the Athletes will be looking to compete for medals this year after a poor finish at last year’s games held in Maseru Lesotho.

He was speaking during the first National league Gala held at the 90-day legacy swimming pool at the OYDC-Zambia Sports development Center in Lusaka.

And PHIRI said the league is highly competitive which is good in preparing Swimmers for the upcoming Zone three games to be held in Tanzania and the Region five event.

He expressed happiness with the growth of the sport among clubs adding that a lot of young stars are now joining the sport.
