(ZNBC)-Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA has commissioned school infrastructure worth over 5 million Kwacha at five different Schools in Kafue District.
The infrastructure, which includes classrooms, ablution blocks and water reticulation systems, have been built at each of the five schools by the Kafue Child Development Agency with support from ChildFund International.
Receiving the infrastructure on behalf of government in Kafue District, Mr SIAKALIMA directed District education officials to guard the facilities against vandalism.
He says government remains committed to see all pupils learn in a conducive environment.
Mr SYAKALIMA says the ministry will continue partnering with stakeholders like ChildFund to improve the learning environment for pupils in schools.
He says works done by the Agency through ChildFund is commendable as it will change the lives of pupils and surrounding communities.
Mr SYAKALIMA says government is working to address challenges which have come with free Education.
And ChildFund International Programs Manager DORAS CHIRWA said over 5,000 pupils will benefit from the school infrastructure.
Ms CHIRWA says the Agency will source for more resources to build similar structures in other schools which are struggling with inadequate infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Kafue District Commissioner MAURICE HIKAPULWE says the free education Policy has seen many pupils enrolling for school in the District.
