TAILORS HAIL GOVT’S DECISION ON SALE OF UNIFORMS

Some Tailors in Lusaka have thanked the government for the bold step of stopping schools from forcing parents to buy uniforms from them.

One of the tailors Edwin Ikachana says the trend made them lose out on the business of making and selling uniforms.

Another Tailor Zelesi Lungu says the schools were using community tailors to design uniforms for them at a lower price while they were selling them at exorbitant prices.

And Ministry of General Education Permanent secretary Technical Services Joel Kamoko said the move was made to empower local people so that they benefit and to ensure schools concentrate on their co -business.
