(ZNBC)-Government has called on online taxi drivers to be patient as it addresses the current challenges that they are facing.
Transport and Logistics Minister FRANK TAYALI says Government is aware of their challenges adding that the matters have been tabled before parliament.
Mr. TAYALI was speaking during a stakeholders meeting with online taxi drivers , Wednesday.
Meanwhile Online Taxi Drivers Association of Zambia representative SIBESO MATE lamented the low rates that operators of online taxi platforms charge commuters.
Mr. MATE said inflation and fluctuations of fuel prices makes the business difficult to sustain hence recommended an increase to 48-kwacha per kilometer.
And KABANDA CHEWE Country Manager for Yango, said the prices offered by the company are still profitable and a short distance will remain a 22 kwacha per kilometer.
