UCZ MOURNS TWENTY DEPARTED WCF MEMBERS

Monday September 19, 2022- Lusaka-The United Church of Zambia Synod is deeply saddened at the loss of twenty members of the Women’s Christian Fellowship (WCF) of Nsama Consistory, in the Northern Presbytery.
Eighteen Women died on the spot while two others died at Nsumbu clinic.
The deceased members died in a fatal road traffic accident which happened at Chaushi Hill in Nsumbu district, along Nsama Nsumbu road around 01:00hrs on Monday,19th September, 2022.
The United Church of Zambia Northern Presbytery Bishop, Rev. Maybin Mulenga has confirmed the sad development.
Bishop Mulenga said the accident happened after the driver , Lold Chimabala of the Motor Vehicle Registration Number ALT 7817, light canter truck which the mothers boarded lost control and overturned as it was descending the Chaushi Hill, few kilometers from Nsumbu.
The deceased WCF members were part of the fifty-eight mothers who were travelling back from the Consistory Conference which was held at Munwa in Nsama Consistory over the weekend.
