An unknown disease has killed several goats in Kawila area in Chief Sinadambwe’s area in Siavonga district.
Kawila village Headman, Ronald Hatongo has disclosed that several goat farmers in the area have reported a high number of goats dying from the unknown disease.
He has since called on the District Veterinary Department to quickly intervene and address the situation.
And Siavonga District Assistant Veterinary Officer, Kawmbwa Chomba has told ZANIS that the department will carry out a disease surveillance exercise.
Mr. Chomba says the veterinary department has further carried out a sensitisation programme with goat farmers in Manchvwa inland, where most of the goats have also reportedly been dying.
