Vice President Mutale Nalumango unhappy with Lusaka City council’s underperformance

Vice President Mutale Nalumango has expressed displeasure at the underperformance by Lusaka City Council (LCC) as evidenced by it’s failure to frequently clean, dispose of waste and unblock drainages in the central business district.

Speaking when she led a team of government officials for a cleaning exercise of the Lusaka Central District this morning, Mrs Nalumango said there is need for the council to effectively work and collaborate with other stakeholders in order to manage waste and contain the outbreak of cholera.

Mrs Nalumango has also advised the council to often clean the city especially with the heavy rains being experienced across the country.

She has since urged every citizen, especially those that trade in the cbd to take responsibility and ensure the environment is clean.

And Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata has assured that working with the local authority, the CBD will be kept clean to prevent the spread of Cholera.
