Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA says Zambia and India’s military cooperation must go beyond material support and include training and transfer of skills through exchange programmes between the two countries.
Speaking after the 2023 Aero India Airshow in Bengaluru, Mr. LUFUMA says India is one of the countries with top notch technology which Zambia looks forward to learn in order to transform its Defence Forces.
He is impressed with the combination of weaponry and cutting edge technological that India displayed at the air show.
Mr LUFUMA says Zambia is eager to tap into that country’s rich resource.
The 2023 Aero India Airshow, which ended yesterday, attracted 737 exhibitors.
Of the 737 exhibitors, 643 are from India while 94 are from 30 other countries.
This is according to a statement issued by First Secretary for Press at the Zambia High Commission in India BENNIE MUNDANDO.
