Zambia Army education branch receives Zambia Correctional Service delegation for education management benchmarking

Education, Libraries and Museums ( ELM) is one of the branches among the many of the Zambia Army that tangibly impact on people’s lives.

The branch through its education directorate has since inception, been providing quality and affordable academic education not only to dependants of military personnel but surrounding communities too in its Army aided schools.

In this perspective, the branch recently received a delegation from Zambia Correctional Service for education management benchmarking of Army aided schools.

The delegation that was being led by Senior Assistant Commissioner and Director Corrections, Ms Doreen Ngoma was welcomed to Army Headquarters by ELM Director General, Brigadier General, Kennedy Sialoombe on behalf of the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis ALIBUZWI.

Brig Gen Sialoombe informed the delegation that all Army-aided schools are jointly managed by the Zambia Army and the Ministry of Education.

And through a well done presentation, ELM Deputy Director General,Colonel Elson Tolokesi Munkombwe was on hand to explain the organisation structure of Army aided schools in order to give the visitors a broader understanding.

Col Munkombwe highlighted, among others, the historical background of Army-aided schools, human resource management of uniformed personnel and the strategies for education provision.

After a presentation, the delegation was taken on a conducted tour of the schools located within Arakan Barracks in order to give the visiting delegation a depth insight on how the schools are organised.

Ms Ngoma expressed gratitude to the Army Commander for giving ZCS an opportunity to conduct education benchmarking of Army-Aided Schools.

Ms Ngoma said that her delegation had learnt a lot and that the objectives of the benchmarking were achieved.
