Zambia is set to launch its satellite in the next two years to increase on digital services to remote parts of the country.
Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says the ministry has set up a 20 man technical steering committee to develop a road map on the implementation of the launch of the space satellite.
The Minister said this during the 3rd African preparatory meeting for the 2023 world radio conference.
And Information and Media Minister CHUSHI KASANDA said Africa can find ways of mitigating the emerging risks and challenges which are associated with ICTs through working together.
Ms. KASANDA said the meeting should also plan for necessary spectrum resources and also facilitate the introduction of new technologies to avoid interference in Frequencies.
And International Telecommunications Union Radio Communication Bureau Director MARIO MANIEWICZ said the union is ready to help emerging countries to establish and develop telecommunication systems of their own.
