ZCS hails L3 Ministries International

The Zambia Correctional Service has reaffirmed it’s commitment to fully engage the Church and other faith-based organizations in a bid to transform the penal system into character rehabilitation centers through increased reformation programmes.
Speaking during the official opening of the two days retreat workshop for 87 Zambia Correctional Service Chaplains at Kafankumba Bible Training Centre in Luanshya, Copperbelt Region Deputy Commanding Officer Senior Assistant Commissioner McBoyd Muweleni said the Service is indeed very pleased that the open-door policy which it has adopted is yielding fruits as can be witnessed from such training programmes.
Dr. Muweleni expressed delight that the Service has continued to enjoyed a cordial relationship and support from a number of Churches in and outside Zambia such as the L3 Ministries International which has resulted in the implementation of a number of different projects.
The Deputy Regional Chief further appealed to the clergy to help pray for their flock so as to see the true light of the lord.
“I therefore urge all of us not to fall prey to false prophets. We must be vigilant by reading the word of God to know the truth”“The word of God in 1 john chapter 4 verse 1 clearly warns us that; “beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of god; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” He said.
And L3 President and Founder, Evangelist Nathan Tarner pledged support to the ZCS and the Chaplaincy unit and all its programmes.
Evangelist Tarner thanked the Zambia Correctional Service for their efforts in growing the outreach programmes of the prison ministry and thanked Command for allowing the L3 Ministries to operate in the Zambia Correctional Service Centres.
He further called on all chaplains in the service to invest in skills that will enable them disseminate the gospel to the inmates in a timely manner.
And in welcoming the delegates, ZCS Head of Chaplaincy, Rev. Assistant Commissioner Sam Zulu thanked Evangelist Tarner and the L3 Ministries International for establishing bible colleges for inmates and officers in 4 Regions of the Zambia Correctional Service.
Rev. Zulu said the Bible Colleges will help equip Officers and inmates with skills necessary to provide spiritual help to their peers.
He further called on all Chaplains to be role models in society if their work is to be supported by society.
The two days workshop has been sponsored by L3 Ministry and is the second of its kind, the first one being the one that was held in Kabwe in the year 2022.
