The Zambia Development Agency has been honored with an award in the category of Startup Exporter Promotion, solidifying its position among the top 25 African Trade and Investment Promotion; and Revenue Growth Leaders for 2023.
In a statement, ZDA Head of Communications and Public Relations Kwali Mfuni said the Agency is thrilled to announce its recognition at the 2023 Go Global Awards where its among 680 investment promotion agencies, including both International Trade Council (ITC) member agencies and non-members who participated in International Trade Centre (ITC) sponsored events.
Mfuni stated that the Agency has been acknowledged for its exceptional role in job creation, effective revenue generation, economic recovery leadership, and the advancement of national economic development strategies.
Commenting on the award, ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa says the agency has played a crucial role in facilitating trade and investments while promoting increased exports, thereby contributing to the economic stability of Zambia and ultimately sustainable development of Africa as a continent.
“This award is a testament of ZDA’s continuous efforts in facilitating export market linkages and providing assistance to businesses of all sizes with innovative, export-ready products or services. The agency has achieved significant success and market penetration not only within the region but also in international markets,” elaborated Halwampa.
He added that ZDA’s recognition at the Go Global Awards highlights its commitment to driving economic growth, facilitating trade, and promoting entrepreneurship in Zambia adding that the agency remains dedicated to creating a conducive environment for investment and supporting the growth of startup exporters in the region.
Halwampa further affirmed that as a premier agency for promoting and facilitating trade and Investment, the Agency plays a vital role in promoting economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in the country by working closely with local and international businesses to provide investment information, incentives, and support services necessary for successful market entry and expansion.
The Go Global Awards, is a collaborative effort between the ITC and the International Centre for Trade Transparency (ICTT), and hosted by the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, brought together over 500 companies from 83 countries and 46 government economic development agencies.
Each year, approximately 50 domestic and foreign government economic development agencies, along with 400 companies, are invited to participate in the exclusive in-person final event round.
