The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has emphasized the necessity of collective efforts to transform Zambia’s economy by adopting sustainable and green practices. This call to action was made by EAZ President, Dr. Osward Mungule, who underscored the importance of making the economy more resilient and inclusive for all Zambians.
Dr. Mungule announced that these critical issues would be the focus of discussion at the highly anticipated EAZ 2024 Economic Summit. The event is scheduled to take place from July 25 to 26, 2024, at the Ciela Resort in Chongwe District, Lusaka.
“The Economic Summit is a pivotal event that highlights our dedication to collaborating with the government and various stakeholders to address economic challenges, our goal is to drive economic recovery through partnerships and innovative strategies,” stated Dr. Mungule.
This year’s summit theme, “Pioneering Zambia’s Sustainable Economic Transformation through Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainable Financing Mechanisms after Debt Restructuring,” aims to foster discussions on sustainable development, climate change adaptation, and new financing mechanisms.
“Join us at this summit to be part of the conversation that will shape Zambia’s future,” Dr. Mungule urged.
He further emphasized the summit’s focus on exploring strategies for ensuring a resilient and thriving economy, particularly in the context of post-debt restructuring.
Dr. Mungule highlighted that the summit would address the challenges posed by climate change and seek sustainable solutions, while also discussing innovative financing mechanisms.
“This is an opportunity not to be missed, as we delve into the latest insights on the IMF Program and Zambia’s Economic Outlook for 2024 and beyond,” he said.
The EAZ President further called on industry experts and stakeholders to join the summit for an exclusive chance to stay ahead in the dynamic economic landscape.
“Network, learn, and grow with us at this insightful event. Together, we can drive Zambia’s economic revival and achieve sustainable economic transformation. Your dedication and assistance are invaluable as we navigate the challenges of climate change and implement sustainable financing mechanisms after restructuring debts,” Dr Mungule said.
