The Ministry of Finance and National Planning says it released K11.8 billion to
finance public service delivery in the just ended month of July.
A total amount of K2.3 billion was released for subsidies and social benefits.
In addition, K2 billion was channeled towards the implementation of various government programmes and general operations, while K135.8 million was spent on roads infrastructure.
A further K4.3 billion was released for the public service wage bill while K3.1 billion was spent on arrears and servicing both domillionmestic and external gobbled K3.1 billion.
Hospital operations and the government Grant Aided Institutions (GAI’s) shared K471.2.
“School Grants received K448.1 million,
K300.6 million for the Food Security Pack;
K217.9 million as Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Secondary School & Skills Development Bursaries; while K209.9 million went to the country-wide Social Cash Transfer Programme,” reads the Ministry statement released Sunday.
Other releases are:
1)K115.1 million for public universities’ operations;
7) K111.6 million to the Local Government Equalization Fund to facilitate smooth and efficient operations of local authorities;
8) K100 million to Local Authorities Superannuation Fund, as Funding Gap; and,
9) K279.2 million for Zambia Revenue Authority to support operations and resource mobilisation.
General Operations: In the month under review, the Treasury released K2 billion to facilitate service delivery in various
Government institutions.
Capital Expenditure: A sum of K135.8 million was released towards road infrastructure projects.
Wage Bill: The Government spent a total of K4.3 billion on costs relating to the Public Service Wage Bill (Personal
Emoluments) for various public service workers.
